Josh Searle-White, Light in Odd Spaces Musical Director

Every week we will be featuring a cast member from Light in Odd Spaces. This week, we highlight Josh Searle-White, MCT President and the show’s Music Director.

A Brief Bio

Josh Searle-White is a member of the company, the musical director, and the composer of two of the songs in Light in Odd Spaces.  He’s currently President of the MCT Board and has appeared on our stage in Chicago and several other productions, including The Weekend Workshop, a one-person show that premiered at the MCT and was later seen in California, Seattle, the UK, and off-Broadway in New York City.  He also wrote two other plays for the MCT stage, It’s Not All About Sex! (Or Is It?) and Truth Out!

I asked Josh what favorite memory in working on Light in Odd Spaces

“In preparing for this show, I was going into a small, dark, spooky room in the Odd Fellows Building and performing a shadow puppet play with another company member about the swifts who live in the Odd Fellows chimney.  It was the perfect blend of inspiring and scary.”
