Meet the Cast of “The Shark is Broken”

Dan Winston (Richard Dreyfuss) is up to the gills with excitement about being in “The Shark is Broken.” He’s been in nearly 100 local productions, and he occasionally bites off more than he can chew. He most recently fin-ished playing Mr Wormwood in “Matilda” at The Academy Theatre. As much as he enjoys doing big musicals like that, he’s been known to fight tooth and nail for small, character-based dramas to happen in Meadville. He would like to thank Tom and Geoff for making that happen, so he doesn’t have to be so salty about it. There’s an ocean of talent in the Meadville theatre scene, and he’s very grateful for his co-stars Jason and Aaron for being so much fun to work with. Enjoy the show, and please feel free to let him know of any shark puns he missed afterwards.

Jason Sakal (Robert Shaw) is so excited to be performing “The Shark is Broken” with great friends, as well as new faces that he hasn’t been on stage with before.

He’s been on stage recently in RENT and quickly followed that as Igor in “Young Frankenstein,” both at the Academy Theatre. You may have seen him in the past as the Baker in “Into The Woods” or Nikki and Trekkie in “Avenue Q.” He also had a lot of fun his last time at the Penny Smith, performing in “Almost, Maine.”

When he’s not acting, you can usually find him taking photos or participating in community events around town. He’s so proud to be in a community of so many artistic opportunities!

Aaron Stine (Roy Scheider) is excited to once again be on stage with Meadville Community Theatre. Aaron recently starred in MCT’s production of “Biloxi Blues” as Sergeant Toomey. Other recent shows with MCT include “Pick Your Poison,” William Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing,” “An Evening with Carol Burnett and Friends” and “Small Jokes About Monsters.” Aaron is excited for another opportunity to work with MCT community in this production. Special thanks to Tom for the opportunity as well as Jason and Dan for making this play an enjoyable experience. Also, shout out to Tim the toolman for making building a boat look easy.
