Thank you to everyone who has expressed interest in directing for MCT. We are excited to have some new faces behind the scenes! If you didn’t reach out before, it’s not too late; actually, now is the time! 2023-2024 Season submissions are now open.
Applications for shows and directing are due January 20, 2023. Please fill out the .pdf fillable form here and email it to publicity@mctbackstage.com. You may also print the form and send it to: Meadville Community Theatre, PO Box 330, Meadville, PA 16335. Please make sure it is post marked on or before January 20, 2023.
We are doing things a tiny bit differently this year. The Production Committee has some ideas for the upcoming season. Let us preface this with, if you have a show idea that you think would work great for our audience, space and volunteers, please submit it! These ideas are not set in stone, just a jumping off point to get the creativity flowing.
Our tentative theme is Love & Loss. In the mix of shows we would like to include an upbeat musical, a more serious play, a cabaret night, a youth show and a comedy. Also remember, MCT produces original work, theater in the summer at Goodell Gardens, and site-specific productions (think Inherit the Wind in the courthouse and Love Letters at the Shyrock Amphitheater).
We don’t want to influence you too much, but here are some show ideas if you need them:

We also love a good mis-cast cabaret night. Maybe mis-cast love songs? A radio show may be perfect for a garden setting; we can suggest some if this interests you.
