What happens when you combine an overbearing Southern mother, a less-than-matronly career woman, two sets of new parents, terrible twins and a snowstorm at Christmas? Find out in MCT’s holiday production of Sweet Tea and Christmas Trees. Almost a year after they all met at Maggie’s baby shower in Sweet Tea and Baby Dreams, the James and London families are together again, although this time it is to spend Christmas on a luxurious cruise ship (all but Mama Jubilee that is). However, when a sudden snowstorm threatens their plans, both families find themselves stuck at Mama’s overly crowded, overly decorated and completely overly Southern home. Over the course of their confinement, they must figure out a way to keep the spirit of Christmas alive while not killing each other in the process. Featuring the original cast of Sweet Tea and Baby Dreams, this is a hilarious and heartwarming story of blended families discovering the true magic of Christmas…each other.
