Show Details: Stall is a new, original play written by artist, author, playwright, and Meadville-native, Brenna Thummler. Stall tells a young woman’s story of identity, self-acceptance, and imaginary frienemies, set in a college dorm bathroom, animated with girl power. Fig is a talented young artist whose perfectionist tendencies and absurdist frienemy (friend/enemy) drive a wedge between Fig and her colorful cast of floormates. But make no mistake, this show will make you laugh. It’s like spending 90 minutes as a fly-on-the-wall in a college girls’ bathroom in a totally non-weird way.
Character List:
FIG – College female. (Junior) Irrationally productive. Quietly jealous. Easily influenced by other people’s emotional states and not so much her own. Nothing without a challenge.
FIG WIG – Fig’s eating disorder. Suave. You wanna be her. Way cooler than Fig in every way, with compassionate murdery undertones. (In a perfect world, she and Fig are played by twins.)
KELLY – College female. (Junior) Demands attention. Unhappy with herself but has an overly happy demeanor, mostly. Motivational (but why?) Jealous and vengeful and not very subtle about it.
LANE – College female. (Senior) Mellow. Dark. Always a little irritated, but not the kind that makes others irritated. *Nonwhite preferred*
ADRIAN – College female. (Junior) Anti-chaos. Causes chaos. The most genuine in intention.
DAHLIA – College female. (Sophomore) Outspoken. Odd. She will make you uncomfortable by being the best friend she can be.
MOM – Fig’s mom. Steady. Chilled. Logical. Committed to being the strong one in any situation.
BOYFRIEND, MALE AUTHORITY, CRUMPLED FIG – An ensemble of Fig’s memories.
MCT is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in all our productions. We provide equal opportunity in casting as far as our contracts allow.
