Chat with the Playwright
Sweet Tea and Christmas Trees

This is a special Black Friday edition of Theater Thursday! Announcing our chat with the playwright and cast of Sweet Tea and Christmas Trees after the show on December 5.

Join playwright Maribeth McCarthy and the cast of Sweet Tea and Christmas Trees for a chat after the December 5th matinee performance. They will discuss creating a new play, creating a new character, and answer any questions you may have about the play.

Being able to chat with the playwright and the first cast of a play is a tremendous opportunity. Since MCT presents the work of local talent on our stage, we have the ability to offer these kinds of chats to our audience. Find out how an actor breaths life into a character that has never been seen before. Discuss the writing process and how an idea turns into words on the page. Ask those questions you leave the theater with but don’t have the opportunity to ask. If you are curious about the process of bringing a show to the stage, this is for you!

Sweet Tea and Christmas Trees is not the first play McCarthy has written. It is a sequel to her Sweet Tea and Baby Dreams. Sweet Tea and Baby Dreams was performed at MCT in the spring of 2019 following its premier in North Carolina. She is also author and illustrator to the Colby children’s book series. Her creativity knows no bounds!

A Reminder about the Story

Sweet Tea and Christmas Trees catches up with the James and London families almost one year after Maggie’s eventful baby shower. Babies have been born, new relationships are blossoming, and they are being forced together in one house for the holidays. Chaos ensues until they find that being together at Christmas is really the best gift of all.

Get you tickets for Sweet Tea and Christmas Trees by calling 814-333-1773 or purchasing online at mct1967.square.site. Be sure to come to the December 5th show at 2:00pm to be able to chat with the playwright and cast after the performance.
