Cast needed:

Anne London: 50s. Career woman, beautiful, stubborn, overly sexual and very sure of herself.

Samantha Kensington: 30s. The responsible one, who has been through a lot of changes in the past year and is coming into a life of her own. The rock of her family.

Jack Barrie: 30s. Adorable and over-excitable, he is a new dad who has trouble staying awake. Some might say he’s not the brightest bulb in the ceiling fan, and they would be right. But he has a heart of gold and is pure joy.

Teddy Stephens: 20s, gay male. Quick-witted and hilarious, loves to be the center of attention. Always says exactly what he’s feeling/thinking.

Lulie Davies: 10-year-old girl (actual age 12+ but plays young), foster child of Nora and Quinn. Been through a lot over the course of her life, and is still trying to figure out exactly where she belongs.

Barrie: 50s to 60s. Passing resemblance to Santa Claus a plus. A nice, jovial hitchhiker who winds up in the middle of all this craziness.

All ages are suggested, and all ethnicities are welcome. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just newly interested in theater, we would love to see you!

What happens when you combine an overbearing Southern mother, a less-than-matronly career woman, two sets of new parents, terrible twins and a snowstorm at Christmas? Find out in MCT’s holiday production of Sweet Tea and Christmas Trees. Almost a year after they all met at Maggie’s baby shower in Sweet Tea and Baby Dreams, the Jenkins and London families are together again, although this time it is to spend Christmas on a luxurious cruise ship (all but Mama Jubilee that is). However, when a sudden snowstorm threatens their plans, both families find themselves stuck at Mama’s overly crowded, overly decorated and completely overly Southern home. Over the course of their confinement, they must figure out a way to keep the spirit of Christmas alive while not killing each other in the process. Featuring the original cast of Sweet Tea and Baby Dreams, this is a hilarious and heartwarming story of blended families discovering the true magic of Christmas…each other.
